Hotel Accommodations
Jackson, MS:  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Cabot Lodge North.  Room rate is $92 plus tax.   To reserve your hotel room, please email Tom McWilliams or call 800-748-8627, ext. 311.  Hotel reservations need to be made no later than September 8th.

Baton Rouge, LA:  Please make your hotel reservations directly with the hotel by calling 800-362-2779 or (225) 924-6566. Our special rate is $114 plus tax.  Hotel reservations need to be made no later than September 1.  Please be sure to mention that you are attending the Louisiana Credit Union’s workshop to receive this special rate. 

Cancellation Policy
If notice is received at least 10 business days before the workshop, we will refund your full registration fee.  A $50 administrative fee will be charged for cancellations received later than ten business days before the conference.  No shows will be billed.  Substitutions are welcome at any time.  Hotel cancellations are subject to the individual hotel’s cancellation policy.

Hotel Tax Exemption for FCUs
The NCUA Letter of Exemption, which hotels may require, is available from the NCUA's website:  Visit www.ncua.gov and type “Letter of Exemption” in the search box.  Please contact your hotel for details about their tax exempt policy & procedure.

Working Your Member Delinquent Accounts- All attendees are asked to bring some of their own delinquent accounts to the session.  Any problem account is fine.  The attendees must bring all information surrounding the account (due dates, phone #’s, copy of credit application, etc.) We will work these accounts together as a group over a speakerphone.  Don’t worry about privacy or Fair Debt Violations: we will use first names only.

About the Speaker
Steve Peterson has over 32 years of experience in the field of collections. His career began with Ford Motor Credit Company in 1977. After four years, he moved on to accept the position of Accounts Receivable Manager for a large Midwestern retail chain. In 1988 Steve joined Mapother & Mapother Attorneys at Law where he was the lead Account Representative for 14 consecutive years. Bill Mapother & Steve developed and operated a collection school together and have trained well over 5,000 employees since 1991. In 2002 Steve formed his own consulting company called Collection Training Consultants. He conducts Telephone Collection Training Seminars for State Leagues and Associations as well as individual financial institutions and businesses.
